Unfortunately, the results from Tim's PET scan weren't what we had hoped for. His cancer has begun to grow again and has metastasized to lymph nodes. On Monday, we will meet with Tim's Oncologist at Kaiser to review options. At this point, there really is only one chemo left to try -- and it 's known to cause significant neuropathy especially in the hands. Tim also has a call in to his consultant at UCSF.
We wanted to have more time, but we are thankful for the extra time we've had. When Tim was first diagnosed, he was given 6-9 months. It's been over 2 1/2 years since then, and we've tried filling it with as much big and small adventures as we could.
We'll go off to Stanford today to get the latest on Paul's status and what's next for him now that he's beginning to pull out of the flu.
